Student-Led Movement – SLM

Vision

Overall Perspective:

  • Campus+ Orientation: the gospel for every student, a movement for every campus, leaders for every nation;

Why Target Students

  • They are the decision-makers of tomorrow: they represent a powerful percentage;
  • They are the easily reachable and available demographic;
  • They are a breeding ground for harmful sects and occult movements;
  • They are the age group where life convictions are formed;

How to Build a Movement

  • The Specific Process of Discipleship: Win, Build, Train, and Send

Some Challenges

  • Strikes: academic instability that disrupts the movement's cycle.

Note: In case of a strike, students should gather in neighborhoods or churches. Avoid engaging in vandalism.

  • The very difficult living conditions of students. NF: Remain close to God in prayer and support one another. Share the challenges of ministry with brothers and sisters in the church.
  • Intellectualism that hardens hearts to the gospel;

NF: Pray and study apologetics.

  • The proliferation of sects; Pray and develop discernment of spirits through regular and in-depth study of the Word of God;
  • The hostility of some university authorities; NF: Conduct ministry discreetly; cultivate good relationships with authorities. Undertake social initiatives;
  • Difficulty collaborating with other Christian movements on campuses;

NF: Develop partnerships and encourage unity and a spirit of collaboration.

How to build an SLM movement

  • Case study on how to establish a presence on a campus: presentation of principles followed by a workshop where participants develop an implementation plan.
  • Simulation of the discipleship process: the 7 steps (pastoral care, praise/worship, report, reminder of the vision, Bible studies, practice of evangelism techniques, objective to be achieved before the next meeting and prayer).
