Cherry became a staff member in 1976, beginning with the Athletes of Action ministry and then the campus ministry in California. She has served in Human Resources and on the national level, as Women Today International Associate Field Director, Special Assistant to the U. S. Director, and Director of Transition for the Office of the President.
In 2001, Cherry was appointed the Chief of Staff to the President of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Cherry lives in Orlando, Florida.
